Biography

Physician | Neuroscientist | Science Communicator | Advisor

Dr. Emmanuelle Wilhelm is a Luxembourgish medical doctor and neuroscientist, specialized in movement disorders and advanced brain stimulation. At HM CINAC in Madrid – one of the world’s leading centres for Parkinson’s disease – she conducts clinical, basic and translational research in invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation.
Her academic and professional journey has taken her from Luxembourg to Belgium, Spain and Chile, at the crossroads of medicine, science and technology. A polyglot (seven languages, five at professional level), she builds bridges across disciplines, stakeholders and cultures. She has been recognized on multiple occasions for her ability to make science both accessible and human, be it through scientific publications, teaching and workshops, media collaborations or initiatives engaging patients and the wider public.
Since late 2024, she has been collaborating with the NPIS as one of its first trainers and consultants. For her, the NPIS represents a true breath of fresh air in the health system: a space to co-create the research and care models of tomorrow, rather than conform to the limits of yesterday. This vision also animates The Nuanced Neuro, her platform dedicated to dialogue between medicine, science, innovation and society. Convinced that medicine must reach beyond pharmacology alone, she advocates for patient empowerment and the integration of science-based holistic strategies capable of profoundly transforming the quality of life of people living with chronic and complex conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.
