Biography
HENROTIN Yves is a Professor of Pathology, Physical therapy, and functional Rehabilitation and director of the Musculoskeletal Innovative Research Lab (mSKIL) at the University of Liège (Belgium). He is also head of the Physical Therapy and Functional Rehabilitation department at the Princess Paola Hospital, Marche-en-Famenne (Vivalia), Belgium. Between 2006 and 2013, he was a member of the board of directors and the treasurer of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI). Recently, he was associated as a steering committee member of “The Strategic Alliance Committee” and “The OARSI rehabilitation discussion group”. Since 2023, he has been a board member of the International Cartilage Repair and Joint Prevention (ICRS) and the chair of this important society’s “Regulatory & Industry Liaison” standing committee. He is also the vice president of the Spine section and the Osteoarthritis section of the French Society of Rheumatology. He is co-president of the National Council of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation board for the Belgium Health Ministry. Since 2021, he has been the co-president of the French Scientific Society of Physical Therapy (SSFK) in Belgium. Recently, he was nominated as a member of the COST action NewOArk steering committee dedicated to coordinating OA research in Europe and a member of the GO-PAIN European consortium. He is also a permanent member of the EUROVISCO group, chairman of the European Board of Positive Aging, and member of the 2018 EULAR recommendations steering committee for physical activity in people with inflammatory arthritis and osteoarthritis. He is honorary editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Orthopaedics and associate editor of Therapeutic Advance in Musculoskeletal Disorder and Frontiers in Medicine. He has an impressive H-index of 80 (Google Scholar), over 245 PubMed-listed publications, and a robust ongoing externally funded research grant portfolio.
