Biography
After studying science, Michel Noguès joined the Social Security system as a statistician. His career took him to the position of Deputy Director of Carsat in Montpellier. In view of the expertise he had acquired in the field of preventing the effects of ageing, the national bodies, Cnam and Cnav, entrusted him with a national role as project manager on the subjects of social action and identifying the vulnerabilities of senior citizens. At the same time, he has been involved as an administrator and lecturer at the Centre d’Études Supérieures en Économie et Gestion Hospitalière at the University of Montpellier. He took part in the European SUNFRAIL project as WP leader. He is the founder of the Institut Régional du Vieillissement in Montpellier. Today, his involvement in a number of associations and his links with the Universities of Montreal and Sherbrooke in Canada position him as a recognised figure in the field of ‘social prevention’, the concept of which he has developed in a number of publications.
